The M-CHAT Screener for Autism Risk
The M-CHAT-R is a screening test for autism intended for toddlers between 16-30 months of age. Please answer all of the following questions about your child. Keep in mind how your child usually behaves. If you have seen your child do the behavior a few times, but he or she does not usually do it, then please answer no.

Please see below to interpret your scores:
Total score of 0−2 = Low Likelihood: If your child is younger than 24 months, you can screen them again after their second birthday. No further action is required unless there are other concerns that indicate a risk for autism (in which case you should talk with your doctor.).
Total score of 3−7 = Medium Likelihood: A secondary screening is required called the Follow-Up; this short interview can be done by your pediatrician who can tell you if further evaluation is indicated. Please call your pediatrician to discuss taking this Follow-Up interview.
Total score of 8−20 = High Likelihood: The child should be referred promptly for a diagnostic evaluation and eligibility evaluation for services. We offer this service at Soar Autism Center through our child psychologists and diagnostic team. If you are looking for additional help, please call us at the phone number on our website and one of our team members can support you.
